As I Remember It

Conceived by Carmen de Lavallade with Joe Grifasi and Talvin Wilks, As I Remember It is the story of Carmen’s remarkable life as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher.

I started with the project as a PA for a run at the Baryshnikov Arts Center, then took it on tour over the next few years—working with producer Anna Glass—first as a line producer for performances at the International Festival of Ideas, and then to the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in our joint hometown, Los Angeles. I took these photos from my spot in the wings.
